Mohegan Sun Debuts Its Live Online Casino Website

Mohegan Sun Pocono, one of many tribally owned casinos in the Keystone State, is set to launch its proprietary digital online gambling website. On the one hand, the impending launch of Mohegan Sun online will mark the 22nd and newest of PA online casinos. Mohegan Sun’s live website will help fill the void with Unibet leaving the North American market.  

Ever since Unibet PA entered the Keystone State at the dawn of legal PA online casinos in 2019, it has been the standard bearer of gambling websites in PA and sports betting in Pennsylvania. But last November, Unibet announced plans to leave not only Pennsylvania, but the entire North American market. The Mohegan Sun Pocono served as the land based partner casino mandated by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board for online casinos to operate.  

At the top of 2024, the Mohegan Sun Casino group announced plans to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board about their plans for an online casino. From what we were able to gather, Mohegan Sun Casino Live will enable its land-based casinos to interact and tie in their accounts with the live platform, something similar to Caesars Palace Online.  

Through the Momentum software, Mohegan’s esteemed retail casino members and online members can carry over their reward points, daily perks, and even exclusive tournament invitations seamlessly as they see fit. It appears that Pennsylvanians are taking to Mohegan Sun’s new live platform by dropping over $1 million in gambling revenue last month.

The timing also coincides with Mohegan Sun announcing a smoke-free zone in its land-based casino. Part of this new slot zone free of smoking includes a generous amount of Aristocrat Gaming. For traditional casino players who prefer the smoke, they can still do so throughout the main floor. Currently, more than 50% of the casino floor is dedicated to smokers.  

There are more than 50 Aristocrat Gaming slots available at Mohegan Sun Pocono. To help promote the new smoke-free zone, the plan is for Mohegan Sun Pocono to have advertisements and game artwork to promote Aristocrat Games, including future releases.  

If this small experiment goes well, look for Mohegan Sun to expand the no-smoke zone throughout the casino. If so, like in Atlantic City, if traditional casino players can’t smoke, or have less chances to smoke at the Mohegan Sun, look for them to migrate to the live site.  

Right now, PA online gamblers can download Mohegan’s new live casino app from Google Play and the Apple Store to get their first look at the 500+ casino games.
