Pennsylvania Sportsbooks Set Odds for This Weekend’s Sweet Sixteen

After losses by Penn State and Pittsburgh over the first weekend of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the Keystone State’s sportsbooks have turned their attention to setting the odds for the remaining field to win the entire tournament and which teams are favored to reach the Final Four.

The final two #1 seeds in the tournament, Alabama and Houston, appear to be on a collision course, according to PA online sports betting outlets. Since both teams are on opposite sides of the bracket, they could meet in the title game setting up a delicious matchup for sports bars around Pennsylvania.

Alabama holds the top odds at DraftKings to make the final at +150, with Houston coming in second at +200 to make the final game of the collegiate basketball season.

When it comes to naming the favorites for making this year’s Final Four in Houston, DraftKings and FanDuel have set their odds for each division winner.

In the West, FanDuel gives UCLA and Connecticut the best chance to win the division with +185 odds, although Gonzaga sits over their shoulder at +230.

In the South, the odds-on favorite according to FanDuel, to win the NCAA title, Alabama, holds the best shot at winning the division at -145. Creighton, a surprise Sweet Sixteen entrant, holds the second best odds at +175.

In the final two divisions, Tennessee at +130 in the East and Houston holding -115 odds to win the Midwest, own the top chance to advancing to the Final Four according to DraftKings.

If Houston can get by a pesky Miami team on Friday, then they’ll take on the winner of Xavier and Texas. The Cougars are favored by seven points over the Hurricanes with the point total set at 138 points.

For Alabama, the road to the Final Four starts Friday afternoon with a game against San Diego State. DraftKings has installed the Crimson Tide as 7.5-point favorites over the Aztecs. Alabama would play the winner of Creighton and the tournament’s Cinderella, 15-seeded Princeton if they can defeat Miami. 

Other teams favored to make the NCAA title game include Tennessee at +360, Creighton at +400, and UConn, UCLA, and Texas at +475.
