NBA Picks & Parlay for May 21-22

Highlights

  • The Pacers advance to the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals against the Celtics
  • The Timberwolves shock the Denver Nuggets in an epic Game 7
  • Expect a shootout in both Conference Finals’ Game 1

To say that this past week in NBA betting has been one of the wildest and most unpredictable in recent memory is a gross understatement. Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves have disrupted the PA sports betting world by overcoming a 20-point deficit to dethrone the Denver Nuggets and advance to their first Western Conference Final since Garnett's 2004 MVP Season. Luca Doncic and the Mavs take care of the Thunder and advance to the 2024 Western Conference Finals. Caitlin Clark continues to struggle in her first week of the WNBA. With the conference finals now set, it's time to jump on the leading basketball wagers on your favorite PA casino apps.

Indiana Pacers vs. Boston Celtics Best Bet: Celtics -9.5 | -107 at betParx Sportsbook

Right now, the Knicks nation is mourning the complete Game 7 collapse. Once Jalen Brunson broke his hand and left, Game 7 turned on a dime, and the Pacers never looked back. Losing to the Pacers is nothing new for Knicks fans, who are still in mourning from the Game 7 loss in Madison Square Garden in 1995 and Game 6 of the 2000 Eastern Conference Finals.

Still, the Pacers are on their way to take on the mighty Boston Celtics. Despite having home-court advantage and getting some extended rest, the Celtics are narrow favorites to win the moneyline bet at betParx Sportsbook at -400. But, if you believe in Pacer destiny, it might not seem like such a big gamble to choose the Pacers to win Game 1 Tuesday night at +310 odds.

Regardless of who wins, Game 1 of the Eastern Conference is ready to be a scoring fest, which opens the door for plenty of player prop bets. With so much rest, it might be a smart bet to make one leg of your same-game parlays, with Jason Tatum scoring over 25 points with 315 odds. But with so much attention that's all but guaranteed to be shown to him, especially double-teaming, you can take the conservative bet with Tatum scoring under 25 points at +190 odds.

Either way, look for Jaylen Brown to have a solid game, especially if Tatum is heavily double-teamed by scoring over 21.5 points with -265 odds. The ageless wonder, Al Hortford, continues to come up big for the Celtics, and he can prove to be the X-factor, especially with his 3-point shooting prowess by scoring over 7.5 points at -235 odds.

The Dallas Mavericks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Best Bet: Timberwolves -4 | -108 at BetRivers Sportsbook

The NBA world is still in an uproar over the Wolves' amazing 20-point comeback in Game 7 against the Nuggets in their own house. Even though Luca and Kyrie Irving are firing on all cylinders, BetRivers Sportsbook is picking the Timberwolves to win the moneyline bet at -175 odds. However, the Mavericks are well within striking distance after winning Game 1 Wednesday at +145 odds.

Game 1 of the 2024 Western Conference Finals will have plenty of fireworks ready to go off, setting the stage for plenty of successful same-game parlays. Look for Luca to score over 24.5 points at -335 odds. We feel it's a pretty safe bet for Kyrie Irving to efficiently fulfill the -315 odds to score over 17.5 points. Because Anthony Edwards has been a flamethrower, especially against the Nuggets, look for him to have a huge Game 1 by scoring over 25.5 points at -250 odds. Expect the French Rejection, Rudy Gobert, to have a monster game defensively by hauling in over 11.5 rebounds at -19.5 odds.
