PA sports betting for football is just getting started as the second week of the NFL season starts with Thursday Night Football. The reigning NFC champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, will look to get another win and go 2-0 against the Minnesota Vikings. The game will be at home for the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on September 14th at 8:15 p.m. ET.

A week one loss for Kirk Cousins in the Vikings should see them playing a little desperate to avoid going 0-2, but winning on the road, on a short week, against the Eagles will be a daunting task.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Minnesota Vikings Analysis

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles come into this game after an up-and-down season-opening win over the New England Patriots. The Eagles got out to a 16-0 lead but watched it shrink as they gave up 14 points unanswered and let New England get right back into the game.
The Eagles showed some grit, though, by keeping the Patriots at bay and still managing to win the game, but it was definitely closer than it should have been.

Injury Report: Reed Blankenship (S) - Questionable with a rib injury. James Bradberry (CB) - Questionable with a concussion. Fletcher Cox (DT) - Questionable with a rib injury. Kenny Gainwell (RB) - Questionable with a rib injury. Nakobe Dean (LB) - Out on IR with a foot injury.

Minnesota Vikings

After a tough week one loss riddled by turnovers and sloppy play, the Vikings will need to clean it up in week 2, especially against a better opponent in the Eagles. The Vikings are hoping starting center Garrett Bradbury and starting tackle Christian Darrisaw will be healthy enough to play. If not, it could be a long night for Kirk Cousins and company facing one of the NFL's best defensive fronts.
Injury Report: Garret Bradbury (C) - Questionable with a back injury. Christian Darrisaw (T) - Questionable with an ankle injury. Marcus Davenport (OLB) - Questionable with an ankle injury.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Minnesota Vikings Match Prediction

The Philadelphia Eagles are set up to get off to a 2-0 start.

Spread: The Eagles enter this matchup as favorites with a -7 spread at most PA sportsbooks. This matchup is a little scary as the Vikings have a decent chance to cover, as their high-scoring offense could see them get a late score that gives them a backdoor cover.
Moneyline: The moneyline also favors the Eagles (-320), indicating a higher probability of winning. There is not very good value at -320, but it is still a safe bet to make at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Over/Under (O/U): The point total set in this game is 48.5 points, but this is one of those games where they could set the point total at 60, and it could still go over. The Eagles and Vikings have two of the most potent offenses in the entire NFL.

The Eagles have the dual threat magician at quarterback in Jalen Hurts, and he has some incredible weapons in pass-catching targets like AJ Brown and former Heisman winner DeVonta Smith.

While Kirk Cousins has always put up really big numbers and has arguably the game's best wide receiver in Justin Jefferson, secondary pass catchers like TJ Hockenson and rookie Jordan Addison are still incredible options.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Minnesota Vikings Best Bet:

Over 48.5 - Point Total (-115) | FanDuel

As mentioned, the spread could be risky. While the moneyline doesn't provide very good value, the over 48.5 points with each offense's talent is a good bet that also provides pretty good value at -115 at the PA FanDuel Sportsbook.

Another thing to consider is even if the Vikings struggle with turnovers for a second week in a row, that only makes it more likely for the over to hit, as it makes the Eagles chances to score even easier while Minnesota could be left a second week in a row having to chase points.
