PA sports bettors can access the SugarHouse Sportsbook app from their device’s app store. It offers a similar experience to the desktop with a few differences in the layout due to the different screen sizes. After using the SugarHouse app for a few weeks, here were our key takeaways.
1. Navigation
All of the available sports betting markets are listed across the top of the first page, which makes searching for different bets fairly easy. Once bettors select a particular sport or betting market, three tabs pop up to continue on to either live betting, upcoming games, and futures markets. It’s actually surprising more sportsbooks don’t organize their apps like this considering how convenient it is to be able to easily switch between these types of markets for each sport.
Like most sportsbooks, SugarHouse wants to nudge its users towards the promotions and bonus pages. These can be found along the very top of the homepage and almost every other page as you travel through the app.
2. UX & Design
The main detraction from the app is its overall layout. In short, it’s cluttered. There are a lot of differing colors and icons scattered all over the page, making it hard to focus on finding individual bets and markets. In addition to the items already mentioned, the bottom of the page has a scrolling bar that allows players to move between the sportsbook and online casino, rewards, and customer support.
This may be a personal preference and in the grand scheme of things, it shouldn’t keep too many users from playing with SugarHouse. It’s simply something that would be nice to improve upon as the app continues to upgrade.
3. SugarHouse Loyalty Program
SugarHouse has its own rewards program known as iRush Rewards. Bettors receive points for each real money wager they make. Points can be gained through casino and sportsbook bets and are considered one and the same. Points earned through the casino may be used to wager on the sportsbook and vice-versa.
Making bets and racking up points progresses players through the 11 different levels of the program, levels 1-10 and the Elite tier. Click on the Rewards link at the bottom of the homepage to learn more about the benefits of each level.
